Homestead Rodeo

Homestead Rodeo

The 72nd Annual Homestead Championship Rodeo will take place on January 28-30, 2022.

The Homestead Rodeo Association voted unanimously on Tuesday, October 27, to cancel the 2021 rodeo. The association wanted to find a way to safely hold the rodeo for our guests, vendors and competitors. Unfortunately, the challenges we face to create practical and enforceable protocols to comply with COVID-19 guidelines established by the CDC and local government regulations are extremely difficult. The lack of tourism, volitivity of the virus infection levels in South Florida, concern about infection increases nationwide during the upcoming flu season were other major factors weighing in on the decision. The Homestead Rodeo Association will be preparing to make the 2022 event the best one ever!

Welcome to the homepage of the Homestead Championship Rodeo, located in beautiful, sunny South Florida. Our rodeo is a three-day, annual event put on by an entirely volunteer organization, known as the Homestead Rodeo Association, or HRA for short.

2022 will mark the 72nd year of the annual Homestead Championship Rodeo, a tradition that grew out of a group of seventeen founding members who wanted to showcase this unique western sporting event. It is one of the oldest annual professional sporting events in South Florida and the only PRCA Rodeo in Miami-Dade County. Our rodeo is one of nearly 600 sanctioned annually by the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association (PRCA). The PRCA is the largest and oldest rodeo-sanctioning body in the world; ensuring that every event is managed with fairness and competence, and that the livestock used is healthy and cared for to the highest standards.
